The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our project management team. You will be working on a range of customer projects, assisting our Project Managers in the scoping and testing of new developments, throughout the life-cycle of our IT solutions. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to the development and success of our market-leading products, which benefit schools, Multi Academy Trusts and Local Authorities throughout the UK..

Location: Plymouth

Salary: £16,000 – £22,000 pa

 

Duties will include:

  • Assisting Project Managers with co-ordination and issue resolution during project implementations
  • Performing functional testing of software solutions; including writing test plans and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scripts
  • Supporting software initiation, development, deployment, updating and decommissioning projects
  • Assisting with tracking and monitoring project progress, providing regular reporting
  • Developing knowledge and skill sets to confidently support WebBased’s products and solutions
  • Developing customer relationships and attending customer sites when required
  • Validating features and fixes from the development teams for both quality and functionality
  • Assisting with collating requirements for bespoke product specifications, documenting requirements and providing comprehensive feedback
  • Managing and collating UAT feedback
  • Producing concise issue resolution and user documentation as required; where necessary providing training sessions
  • Creating and updating project documentation 
  • Providing pre-go-live end user support, liaising with clients and suppliers to arrange meetings and chasing actions

The ideal candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual who is detail oriented, and will enjoy working with project managers and software developers as part of a close-knit team. You will have a positive, can-do, solutions based attitude and an affinity for technology.

 

You will have

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with a logical and analytical approach
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • The ability to provide clear and effective reporting and documentation
  • An understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • An interest in and some understanding of software testing
  • Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, and confidence in tackling new or unfamiliar software and technologies
  • The ability to identify problems and source a solution
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding service with proven customer service skills
  • Strong team-working skills
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively to handle several projects at the same time
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to assimilate and interpret advice from technical specialists and third parties

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a Project Management team
  • Experience of working in a testing team or software testing
  • Evidence of experience analysing and documenting business processes and systems
  • Ability to manage expectations and control change in an IT projects environment
  • Understanding of PRINCE2 or similar Project Management Methodology
  • ITIL awareness
